Animal Vision turns your camera into the eyes of 40+ animals, in real time. If something is not working, start here — and if the answer isn't below, just write to us.

Contact us

Email [email protected]. We read every message and normally reply within two working days.

To help us help you faster, mention your device model, your OS version, the app version (Settings → About → Version) and what you were doing when it went wrong.

Purchases

I bought Premium (or an animal) and it's locked again

Open Settings → Restore purchases inside the app, signed in with the same Apple Account or Google Account you bought with. Purchases are permanent and tied to that account, so they come back on a new phone or after reinstalling. Restoring also brings back animals you bought individually, not just Premium.

An animal I unlocked has locked itself again

If you unlocked it by watching an ad, that unlock lasts 24 hours by design and then expires. You can watch another ad to renew it, or buy the animal to keep it forever. Only purchases are permanent.

I want a refund

Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, not by us: on iOS use reportaproblem.apple.com, on Android use Google Play's order history. Write to us anyway if something went wrong — we will help where we can.

The price shown looks wrong

Prices come from the store in your local currency. If the app shows a "demo mode" notice, it could not reach the store — check your connection and reopen the app.

Camera and photos

The camera is black, or nothing happens

Check that Animal Vision is allowed to use the camera in your system settings, then fully close and reopen the app. On some devices the very first launch needs a moment before the filter appears.

The image looks blurry

That is usually the point. Most animals resolve far less detail than we do, and the app reproduces that. Tap the 🎨 colours-only control to drop the sharpness simulation and see just the colour transform. Each species' science page explains its visual acuity and where the number comes from.

I can't pick a photo, or saving fails

Picking a photo uses your system's photo picker and needs no permission at all. Saving a snapshot does need permission to add to your photo library — allow it when asked, or enable it in your system settings for Animal Vision.

Language

The app follows your device language across roughly 70 languages, and you can override it in Settings → Language. If some text appears in English, that string has no translation yet — tell us which one and we'll fix it.

Privacy and data

Camera frames and the photos you pick are processed on your device and are never uploaded to us. There are no accounts and no login. Full details are in our Privacy Policy; the terms that govern use of the app are in our Terms of Use.

Where the law requires it, ad-privacy choices can be reopened from Settings → Ad privacy options inside the app.

Is the science real?

Yes — and it has limits. Every filter is built from peer-reviewed vision research that the app cites on each species' page. But a phone screen emits only red, green and blue light, so ultraviolet, infrared and polarized vision can be suggested but never truly reproduced. The app is made for education and curiosity, not as a scientific, medical or veterinary instrument.

The full method — how colour and sharpness are derived, what a phone screen cannot show, and every source behind every species — is set out on our Methodology and sources page.
